Quality valves for iron heads
Who makes quality valves for iron heads?
For my last heads i bought SI-valves, and quality was... Lets just say that stem dia varied on same valve, some were barrel shaped. Remember when head guy called to see it, and they were, verified with own eyes. Those ended up pretty expensive.
What would you buy? And what sizes? Last ones had 2.00/1.625". valves. Aluminum heads are no choice, wont pass visual for being museum car.
Home ported #8's, to drop compression to around 9 from 10. Not a "hot street" type of build this time.

I will second SBI / Eloy. I use their valves almost exclusively on stock type cylinder heads. Very good quality for a very reasonable price. I bet I buy a minimum of 20 each and every week.
Just want to mention that most exhaust valves will have a tapered stem. They are made that way on purpose because the part closest to the cylinder will run hotter and expand more.

A 2.07" intake can fit but shouldn't be necessary for what you want. Make sure they properly clearance the center exhaust guides for a minimum of .0028" clearance. The number 8 heads have a larger crossover than the earlier heads.

For the last sentence i cant comment, since i dont remember anymore which valve it was he showed me, but i quess he knows his trade for being the top head guy here on road racing, like fastest FIA-classed 289cui Mustang etc carrying his heads. But as a flip side, thats not to say either he didnt mess up.
