350 twin exhaust system

hello everyone, finally got around to getting some block hugger headers from Thornton racing & about to get a twin exhaust system. Been thinking about how the tips should look, from looking at photos off brochures when new, the 73 delta’s seem to have the tips concealed behind the rear bar, I like the look of turn down pipes but have been warned about creating dust clouds. Also think if the pipes finished behind the rear bar, might get fumes up through the trunk. Be interested to know what was standard for the day, regards, Cus

Turn downs will prevent hot exhaust gases from melting the tail light lenses. Not sure how your lenses are oriented, but I saw many a Cutlass with melted passenger side lenses over the years due to incorrect talipipe routing.
