Is this cam any good?

I just bought a set of #5 heads for my 350 and got a cam with them. It is a comp cam. The part number is 42-229-4.

I was wondering what you guys think about it and if it would be worth putting in or getting something else.

Right Cam?

Well that depends on ALOT of Variables. Is this just you daily driver, Weekend Cruiser, Street Strip, or just for Drag racing. It is a nice small cam that you would see a nice low end torque and some midrange, depending on rear gears. Will work with vacuum brakes and auto trans without a stall converter. If your rear gears are 2.73 or 3.08 this cam will work GREAT. Add some headers and it will increase your low end torque and improve gas milage and Horsepower. Hope this helps.

The car is mainly gonna be a nice weather driver that occasionally gets taken to the track. The car is just a '76 Pontiac Ventura with an olds 350, and stock everything else besides the exhaust and an HEI. I do plan on putting headers, intake, and maybe a gear in it.

My main concern is the Qjet. In stock form will it handle all that? I'm rather new to GM cars, I mean I am just a Ford guy lol

Cam Help?

To answer your question about will the q-jet cab handle the cam and header up grade. It will work fine. Meaning No Issues, after you get that all back together let us know how it is running.
