The original equip fuel pump went out yesterday on my 83 H/O.. Looking thru the GM parts' manual,,all I can find is p/n's for vin Y 307s GM 6471743 ( ACDelco 41567 ). I can find the p/n for 85-87 vin 9's GM 6472172 ( ACDelco 42218 ) ,but not 83 vin 9. Anyone know if either of these is correct for an 83 vin 9 ? My car is all original,and I want to keep it that way,,so i'd like to get the OE pump for it...I actually have the 42218 ,but trying to make sure it is right for this car

 

The AC Delco online cat shows 84 vin 9 Cutlass uses a 41567 and when you look at the part description it says 83-88 They dont show a vin 9 in 83 What is the production date of your car ? Maybe real late 83 ?

 

Thanks Bill,,,but i looked in the acdelco online stuff.. It shows all 83-87 olds 307 vin 9 as the 41567.. When i now know that 84-87 used the 42218. With some help from someone who knows these H/O's and g-body's inside/out.. 83 was the 41567,,but for some reason they changed to the 42218 in 84... Delco doesn't make the 42218 any more ,,haven't for a long time,,but they still make the 41567

 

According to my computer part system, the part number for 83/84 VIN 9 engines is 6472172 (AC Delco 42218)...

Possibly still available from VPI... My account shows a cost of $50.93...

Thanks Cruzn 66..It's weird, I have the GM parts catalog published in 91 and all it shows is 82-85 G 307Y closed loop 6471743 and 85-87 G 5.0- 9 6472172. Even called a chevy dealer and they gave me a # of 06471743 , which crossed to the 41567...But I already had a 42218 which I bought from vpi a couple years ago. So i'm going to put that in and buy another for a spare.. Thank you much for the info
