1970 350 4 speed w/AC; 393859 cam?
1970 350 4 speed w/AC; 393859 cam?
Interested to hear any opinions on the GM# 393859 cam for a stock overhaul, or recommendations for a modern equivalent.
Planning out parts for an overhaul of a 1970 350, which I would like to keep as close to stock as possible. The car is a 4 speed with A/C and the engine is stock Oldsmobile(4 barrel Q-Jet, 404520 intake, #6 heads, etc.). Likely pistons will be Speed Pro L2321F at 30 over. The car will be a daily driver in the summer, and that is about it.
Rather than the common 084 cam, it looks like the books identify the 393859 cam for this car, which I've only be able to find reproduced at Supercars Unlimited.
As I'm new to Oldsmobiles, I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice from the crowd here. Did a search of older threads and didn't find anything on point. Thanks!
