What intake

Ok Im having alot of problems deciding what to do with my 350 rebuild.
Not sure about the inake. Either an edlebrock performer or performer rpm.
Does anyone have these and is there really much differance. I would like lower
rpm power than high end . and might use a comp cam with 490 lift..... maybe.

Also what about hood clearance?.
Thanks. I could also use any help on a good solid rebuild.
I would like to know what others have done.

Performer is aluminum version of stock 4bbl, or very similar. RPM is the newer version that they market with a cam but you can buy them separate. No problems with hood clearance on either one or with HEI distributors either. As to builds, so many... Maybe take a look over at R.O.P. they have a specific sub-forum for engine builds. As Norm always says, find a competent machine shop that you trust and has a reputation for being fair and thorough and see what they can do for you.

It depends on the whole combo. The RPM is probably a better choice, but in my high 13 second wagon with a 9 to 1 355 with a .472/.488 210/216 cam, it was quicker in the 1/4 mile and more responsive with the Performer. What are your engine and car specs?

It is a 71 convertible.

I am rebuilding the motor so anything goes.
I was thinking of comp cam with 490 lift int and ex
230 dur
performer rpm intake
headers
flat top pistons
maybe a different stall converter but not sure how much.

With that much cam and compression, the RPM is probably a better choice, IMO. You will also want to change the rear end gear into the 3.42-3.73 range with that combo.
