I think the converter will give me my biggest gains still. I'm not saying the afr gauge won't do anything but I personally feel at the moment that should not be my next move. New drag shocks I actually need. 3 are leaking !

Well guys. I took the car out one last time. I planned on doing a little exhaust tuning but between oil downs i had no timei only got two runs in BUT !!!! . I ran a 12.52 with a 1.80 60 ft at 106.49. Then i ran a 12.45 with a 1.75 60 ft. and 106.56 mph. I think my quest is far from over. I intended to put in my new 355 but i feel i can still gain a little e/t . I think for next spring i will for sure put in the new converter and im doing a glass hood and deck lid. i think a 12.2x will be possible. I might add my fuel pump is junk by the time i was in 3rd gear i was seeing 4 psi. so that does not help.

I guess its time to post up my plan of attack to get a lower e/t. Well im currently re doing some body work and going to re paint it. I also took this opportunity to try to shave 200 lbs. Im going to be using a robbmc pump to help fueling issues then once we see what gains we got from this then its on to a new torque converter.

shooting for bottom 12's If i can sneeze an 11.99 that would be sweet but its a tall order.

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!! First time out this year we ran a best of 12.38 @ 107 mph with a 1.75 60 ft. Changes where we shed some weight , new fuel pump , new front control arms. The fact we ran faster our first time out tells me this should be interesting as I think I have a solid shot at a bottom 12 sec e/t.

Thanks guys. The possibility for lower time slips is there. I would like to run a 12.2x as it is before the tq. Converter swap and do some jetting. I think getting a 12.0 out of it is a possibility.

I went with ebay tubulars lol. I double nutted all the bolts so that i can run them as loose as possible for faster movement. I may have lighthened the car by 100 lbs and the fuel pump was a major upgrade.

What im finding is my valve springs are weak and i cant spin past 6k rpm and if i shift too late the car noses down and the converter slips as power goes away. My worst run was a 12.79 @ 100 mph . it was then i realized i need to re set my shift light. After that i went 12.44 and 12.38. Im sure if i made more runs i could have gotten a 12.2x.

next time out should be better now that i have it figured out. I only made 4 runs and 2 of them where kind of throwaways.
