What cam ?
I know its been asked a thousand times but , if I have a stock 1972 350 , little bit of port work on the heads , stock valves stock intake and exhaust manifolds .
What cam would you use?

I would think that's a bit much. I've got a 262H in my 10.5-1 G-block and that seems about right. With 8.2-1 compression, you probably don't want to go over 215 degrees (@ 0.050) duration or 0.460 lift.

Mine is a 1969 with #5 heads and it has 10.25-1 compression.
Does that make more sense?

I'm putting a 268h in my 70' 350 9.6:1 right now and if I could go back I would've got something custom from Mark R. I also agree that the 268 is a bit much for anything in the 8-8.5:1 range. Talk to Mark about the piece and Don (80Rocket) is also a great resource. Good luck
