I put in a comp cams XE268H.
The car has a noticeable idle but can still run A/C and other things just fine. But I'm no expert on what to recommend. This is just what I used

PM cutlassefi - Mark, he can grind you a custom cam tailored to your engine for about the same price that off the shelf cams go for. Great guy to deal with.

I would think that's a bit much. I've got a 262H in my 10.5-1 G-block and that seems about right. With 8.2-1 compression, you probably don't want to go over 215 degrees (@ 0.050) duration or 0.460 lift.

I'm sorry, I didn't clarify what engine mine is.
Mine is a 1969 with #5 heads and it has 10.25-1 compression.
Does that make more sense?

x2

I'm putting a 268h in my 70' 350 9.6:1 right now and if I could go back I would've got something custom from Mark R. I also agree that the 268 is a bit much for anything in the 8-8.5:1 range. Talk to Mark about the piece and Don (80Rocket) is also a great resource. Good luck

Definitely. I'm guessing OP's engine is 8.2, though.
