Vin# history

I was wondering if anyone knows where you may look up your VIN# or chassis # to find out more information about you car. I would like to know what options my car has or possibly how rare my car is. Out of all of the pictures I've seen of super 88's I haven't seen any with power windows like mine. Thank You for any information you may have.

Oldsmobile owners don't have that luxury, as the records don't exist. There aren't a lot from that era that had power windows, so it is somewhat rare.

Build sheet or window sticker available

In some GM plants and in some years, a production line buld sheet was left somewhere in the car. Another long shot is the window sticker if you can find the original owner.

The trim plate might give more info i.e. what options were offered in that body style and trim combination. Sometimes VIN's and date codes are useful. Options offered only late in the model year should not appear on early cars.

Marketing pictures are often made very early in the product cycle before some options can be implemented.

IMHO, retofitting electric windows would be too difficult relative to the value. The windows are very lilely original.
