valve lash 350 rocket

With factory rockers and bridges, with both lifters on the base circle of the cam, torque the bolts to 25 ft/lbs.
If you are using aftermarket adjustable valve train, again with the lifters on the base circle of the cam, tighten the nut (you should have screw in studs and posi locks) until the pushrod starts to drag (zero lash) and then go ½ turn further with the nut and lock it in place.

Hi Billi - I know you said "rocket' 350, but in 1977 GM started to mix and match engines between divisions.
Many an Olds left Lansing (and presumably other plants) with Chevy 350s under the hood.
This applies in 1979 also.
Please be sure you really have an Olds engine in your car. You can determine this by a particular character in the VIN, or by looking at the engine, if you know what to look for. Or check this out: https://www.teambuick.com/reference/...eng_visual.php
Chevy does have adjustable rocker arms from the factory, but not Oldsmobile.
If you do have an olds engine and it is 'ticking' from the rocker area, you likely have a worn rocker arm/bridge that should be replaced.
