Timing tape

Does anyone one know how to keep one of these damned things on. I have used them for years and they never stay on.

clean the balancer then wipe it down with alchol or brake clean. The wrap electrical tape around it a few times then stick your timing tape on this worked for me. You can usually see the timing mark along the side too just a notch but enough to know where to put your tape.

And seal the end with clear nail polish.

Use the tape as a template. I used a paint pen to make paint marks on the balancer next to the marks on the tape. Glad I did that as the tape removed itself on the first 5000 RPM pull - and it was glued down and sprayed over with clear enamel. That was in 1982 and the paint marks are still on the balancer.
