Timing pointer

I almost forgot. The guys at the shop tried to set the timing on the 350 and the pointer is gone Can I get just the pointer? or is it part of the timing cover?

If it's not part of the timing cover, how does it attach. I am only asking because it is not there and I am not able to get to the car easily.

Thanks,

Andrew

the timing indicator is still available from gm, but it's now made of nylon-instead of steel. it attaches via a bolt and is located by a dowel pin, like this: http://web.archive.org/web/200210261...g/MVC-741F.JPG

this picture is on a toronado application, others are very similar(no front support bracket).
403902 is the original part number, group 0.219-discontinued 6/01/88
419048 is the number that is currently available at a list price of U.S.$12.71
