Now, check to ensure that bad cam shaft did not hose-up your Distributors' gear teeth...

Dist teeth are ok. When I started having issues, I bought a $40 ebay HEI just to see if the issue was in the cheap HEI that came with the motor. Now that I know the problem, I've ordered a better quality part. Also have dropped the oil pan and ordered a rebuild kit for the oil pump as that metal had to go somewhere. Got a lot out with a magnet, but going thru everything. Dumped the oil and filter to start fresh. Thanks, and good guess!

Double check to make sure the distributor gear is getting oiled.
