Throttle Return Spring

My 1971 Cutlass w/ 350 has one spring on the carburetor. Is it a good idea to install a redundant spring, or will the spring on the carburetor linkage be sufficient in the event the main spring failed?

There is a spring on the throttle body linkage, so the one you see on the cable arm is the second spring. Whether you need a third spring is up to you.
