Dual throttle spring for Olds Rochester 4bbl

Hi! I've seen these "safety throttle springs" on in chevys but I can't seem to find a dual throttle spring for my Olds Rochester 4bbl (72 cutlass 350). These are the springs where there is basically a small one inside of a large one. Can I and/or should I get this as opposed to the standard throttle spring?
thanks.

You can buy one of those and just re-bend the hooks to shorten it if necessary.
The qjet's throttle shafts and blades are set up such that closes by itself without the help of an external spring. Some earlier carbs were *not* made that way, which can be very exciting.
IMO the spring really drives pedal feel. So just get an assortment and see which one your right foot likes.

Hi Oddball! So you brought up the point that the carb throttle automatically closes if the spring breaks on a 72? i was told the opposite , that it would hold full open if the spring broke. That's why I was going to buy one but if what you say is true than I'll buy the stock spring to get the stock smooth foot feel. Thanks.
