Stock small block rods, differenses
I Have a question about the differenses in stock rod strenght. I read an early article on the net from "Oldsmobile in ation" writing about to importance of chosing the right stock rod in a high performance build. They mention three part numbers for three, maybee different rods. They whrite that the 403 beam is thicker, etc. I think. This is old stuff, and my rods donīt have a partnumber on them. Maybee you guys can help me out looking at the pictures. The number that were mentioned in the article are:
555142=Olds 403 rods= the prefered extra good rods.
380282=64-67 Low rpm small blocks
410 997=Low rpm small blocks
Maybee you have discussed this matter at the forum earlier, and I have missed that, that sucks, but I really dont know what to do with the lack of information. Please inform me all you know abot my rods? could this bee,(look at the pictures) 403 rods? Is there a problem reving stock rods, other than 403 to 6500 rpm:s. Please tell me what your experiance is. Donīt worry, if the rod brakes is not your problem, its my, I just want your real life experiance. Íīm really eager to know. I have looked at internet and there is no aftermarket strong rod for a small block olds to bye anywere. Thatīs strange, with all of china and all that.
Best regards
Stanley
