starter wire routing with headers

What is best way to run them? In from rear probably right? But how to keep wires off the header is my question. How did you do it? Thanks.

Over the top of the engine (along the edge of the intake next to the valve cover) then down the back of the block and forward to the starter. Similar to the factory routing for manual trans cars.

OK thanks. So that being said I guess I'll have fun hooking those wires up. At least I can save myself some hassle by making sure my positive battery cable is long enough to go the extra distance before hand. .

I know the factory routed the wiring over the engine but I personally hate the wires jumping across. I prefer to route them around to the firewall and down. It just looks better.
