Some engine questions...
I've got a 4 door 1967 oldsmobile F85. It's a V8 with a 2 barrel carb and the jetaway tranny. Engine is a gold color. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of engine I have. I believe its a 327...? Is that right? Who is the engine manufactured by? Are there things like cams and other internals and boltons available for the engine? I've restored the interior and exterior, now it's time for the engine to come out and sound a little meaner
So... Is my engine a 327? Are there cams out there? I'd love a lopey cam with good streetability, I don't plan on racing it.. I just want it to be loud and sound mean. Thanks

Thanks, someone tried to tell me it was an oldsmobile 327 that people just call a 330... It really confused me. Do you know if they will take kindly to a cam and some upgrades? Not to race, just to drive to shows, in the countryside, around town.. Just something to give it a little more snap. If there is, got any recommendations? Mainly headers, cam, carb..

There are parts available for the Olds 330. You can put an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold and quadrajet carburetor on it. In addition, you might consider the 400165 cam (#14-222 from SuperCars Unlimited). Bob Gerometta suggests this cam for Factory Modified engines in his Engine Modification and Tuning guide.

STAY AWAY FROM THAT GUY! HE'LL GET YOU IN TROUBLE!
As far as an aftermarket carb goes, you have a Switch-Pitch Jetaway. You'll have to adjust the carb linkage very carefully to keep the SP functional and keep from screwing up your torque converter.
