you will need different rods. You can offset grind the crank and use different rods.

Oh well. The machine work/rod cost will more than offset the purchase price of high compression pistons designed for the sbo in comparison to the price of the 396 pistons. (Just saw some of these on ebay for a bit over a 100 bucks.)
