silhouette 3400
Hello i have a 98 silhouette it has a 3400 in it, ok here we go the radiator blew out , i replaced it still over heated, made sure the antifreeze was diluted correctly overheated, replaced all the coolant relays still over heated , found out the coolant fans were not kicking on, checked them and they are good (they turn on with direct power) changed the coolant temperature sensor and still dont kick on still over heats, i made sure that all the air out of the coolant system, and still over heated , when i unplug the cts the fans kick on but run constantly but the van does not over heat as far as we know because the temp gauge doesnt read with the cts unplugged. Plz help my friends and i have four vehicles with 3400 engines in them that are doing the same thing!! Plz plz help
Welcome to C.O.! You are going to have to take it to someone with a scanner to read live data on the engine. You either have a poor connection somewhere between the ECM and the sensor. Or the computer is not giving the command to turn the fans on. FYI 228 degrees is when the fans are supposed to turn on or with A/C turned on.
