SBO Intake options
So, what do we SBO folks have to choose from, any other options or is this all:
Factory:
1. 2bbl iron
2. 4bbl iron
3. 4bbl aluminium(w-30)
4. Newer A4 4bbl alu
Edelbrock dual planes:
1. Performer 2711 (not suitable with bbo heads)
2. Performer 3711(with egr)(Not suitable with bbo heads)
3. Performer RPM (Can be portedto match with bbo heads)
Edelbrock Single plane:
1. Victory 2812 (mainly race)
Offenhauser 5822/3 Split Single planes
Has anybody experienced with these? Advertised power range 1800-8800?!?

I'll ignore the previous comment.
Depending on the application and build specs, the best all around intake in my experience is the Edelbrock 7111. But don't forget the Holley Street Dominator as well. If you can find one they're a good alternative in higher hp/rpm applications.

Don't forget the the Offenhauser dual quads, one ultra low profile and one taller. More show than go but look cool. There is also a one of one Hillborn injection manifold and 3 swirl port TBI manifolds and one is for sale. If I would have bought the local cheap 87 442, I was planning on using that manifold to build it the way Olds should have in 87.

[QUOTE=edzolz;893944]It's a Weber intake, cast by the factory in both SBO and BBO sizes to support the CanAm program in the 1960s. Interestingly, the CanAm cars used mechanical injector bodies that bolted to the Weber flange. The twin-turbo aluminum 455 seen on the cover of the July 1969 Hot Rod used the BBO version with the injector bodies.

Those weber-flanged 8-port intakes are awesome. That would be ultimately the best intake style, individual, similar to each other runners for every cylinder.
Has anybody here at this forum any experience of Offenhauser split single plane single carb intakes? What kind of runner design is that 360 degree they advertise? Maybe they are a bit out of date nowadays(?), but the marketed power band is interesting 1800-8800rpm?!!?

Heard those split manifolds were junk, never ran one. Another intake is the ultra low profile, small triangle runner SP2P Edelbrock aluminum intake. Great low end acceleration, my Qjet actually out flowed the small runners on my 350 at full throttle.

I've got one of those!

I've got one of those Offenhauser dualport 360* on my sbo 350 -69.
It's total junk. Completely useless as far as power and almost as bad in gas mileage. Only positive thing is the weight saving...
Swaping to a Edelbrock RPM (7111) now and putting the dualport on the wall of shame.
