SBO Guru in the Midwest....NE, KS, IA, SD?

Hello Everyone,

First, I can't thank this forum enough for helping me troubleshoot my dad's 72 Cutlass S which he bought new and my brother and I repurchased after he passed away.

I just started a frame off resto (previous owner was the cause of 2 massive cracks in the frame) and am in the process of tearing the car down. I have spoken with a few local shops that I know do good work on SBCs but after doing my research on these engines I don't want to be someones SBO guinea pig.

Some info on the car and the build...
-Original 350 with 7A heads and original 2brl...to my knowledge the motor has NEVER been opened up...I believe it has over 150K miles.
-Currently is set up as a auto car with the original TH350 but will be doing a manual swap...I have read the threads and know we need to do the work to the crank when it is out of the car...other than that I am open to suggestions on which trans to choose however I am leaning more towards something with a 5 spd.

What I want out of the build? - This is literally going to be an heirloom. I have saved a lot of money to put into this build to make sure I do it once and the right way. I want powerplant that will be fun around town, maaaybe a few light track runs, and long distance trips.

The question...does anyone know of a good SBO builder in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, South Dakota that would be worth speaking with about doing the rebuild?

Any advice is helpful and especially if you have had this same type of build done in the past.

Thanks for your time.

Ben
