Rochester 2GC rebuild - Missing parts?
Doing a Rochester 2GC rebuild that came off a 69 Cutlass (stamped 7040159). I'm not sure if it is original to that car though. I am using a Haynes Rochester and 69 Olds Chassis Service manuals.
A couple of things I noticed taking apart the carb.
1. Missing baffle (around float needle) - Is it possible this carb never came with one from factory? Is it needed?
2. 1 screw holding idle vent valve - It looks like the port below this valve on the carb has been plugged. Also, the vent valve looks old. Should it be totally replaced? Is there a way to calibrate it?
3. No plastic main well tubes.
Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks.

I found another baffle on an old rusted out carb that I plan to use. Apparently, this baffle helps with a more consistent float level by limiting the fuel spray coming in.
The idle vent valve is actually called the hot idle compensator valve. Usually used on cars with AC and maybe on automatic transmissions. The metal causes the valve to open as it gets hot. Mine wont even close cool, so I think it is hosed. I was lucky to find a NOS one ebay.
The plastic main well tubes are some how to help with idle I am told. However, many carbs didn't even come with these. And I don't believe they are manufactured.
