Really hot exhaust gas

Ok I am having really hot exhaust out the pipes, and I just installed a new intake and the paint is browning by the EGR passover after just idling it for the first time since the new intake. It was doing this before the new intake as well. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Or is it even a problem?

Is your timing too advanced? The intake change may have inadvertently exasperated your previous issue.

Paint always burns off the crossover. Consider that the crossover sees the exhaust gas immediately as it comes out of the cylinder. It IS very hot.
