Question on Intake

Hello All,

I am a year + into my project and trying to get the drivetrain finished up. Car is a 1972 supreme hardtop with a dual gate. TH350 with a shift kit and a 2500 stall and a 3.23 posi rear.

Motor has been done .30 over with the speedpro forged 10.25 pistons, porting and bowl work done by Smitty and a custom cam and full roller setup provided by CutlassEFI.

Today the engine builder told me that the stock manifold no longer has clearance from the lifters and needs to be replaced with aftermarket. I was going for a stock look and this will somewhat kill it for me, so I want to get the most power possible and was thinking of a performer RPM.

Is this basically the only option and is there familiarity with the fact that the stock manifold having some kind of clearance problem with a roller setup? I read a lot before I speced this out and do not recall seeing anything like that.

Thanks

I know the turkey tray gasket interferes with the roller lifter setup, never heard that the intake does.

He did say that the turkey tray gasket did interfere. He also said he needed a part from Mondello that keeps the oil off of the bottom of the intake. I am way over my head in terms of technical understanding, so I apologize if I misspoke.

Question-
If you change the intake what will the ramifications be in terms of a custom cam? I'd imagine it was ground for your original config?

The RPM intake is better on anything much over stock. If it is a roller cam from Mark, there will be a good gain.
