Q-jet air horn gasket reuse?

guys, if i decide to take the plunge and try and adjust the float level on my q-jet can the gasket between the air horn and the middle section be re-used? i saw a video on youtube on how to take the air horn off and the gasket looks plastic, not some sort of material that would have to be scraped off. my q-jet was just rebuilt and the gasket should be fairly new. i'm having issues with my q-jet, the float is set too high causing it to run rich. my other thread on this is "excessive exhaust" but i wanted a separate thread on this one question.

yes you can re-use the gasket. Especially if the gasket is almost new.

As long as it doesn't tear or get damaged it's not a problem.

btw I just replied to your exhaust thread.
I am not sure wd-40 is the best stuff to use when looking for vacuumleaks. I dont think it will cause the rpm to rise, but fall a bit. but like I said, I am not sure. If rpm rise when you spray it straight into the carb barrels, then it will do :-)

Wd-40 will indeed cause a RPM increase if sprayed on a vacuum leak. It will also act much like a pressurized can of gas if subjected to a flame so be careful what ever method you use...Tedd
