Power Steering Pump Pulley Nut Direction?

I seem to have misplaced my Overhaul Manual.

Does anyone recall whether the power steering pump pulley nut is right-hand or left-hand thread?

I've gotta take it off to clean up pulley and brackets, can't see enough of the end of the shaft to make out the direction.

"Primum no nocere."

Thanks,

- Eric

left hand should come off easily with an impact gun

Thank you.

Turning clockwise seemed suspiciously difficult and I didn't want to put the impact wrench on there in the wrong direction.

edit: I meant, "Turning counterclockwise," but was thinking "Turning the normal way."

left loosey.

you might need the big bar and a holding device, or an impact gun to remove.

i suspect the threads are self locking type to prevent them from coming loose.

Okay, so I've got one vote for a left hand thread (which would make sense, as the pulley rotates clockwise), and one vote for a right hand thread.

Tiebreaker anyone?
