Oldsmobile 307 5A Head Question
Oldsmobile 307 5A Head Question
Hello everyone,
I have an '83 Oldsmobile 307 engine pulled out of a recently acquired Buick Riviera that I'm looking to have a little work done on. I've heard plenty of information regarding the 307, both yay and nay. Regardless of which, the engine landed in my lap, and I will be sticking with it for the time being. The engine was outfitted with 5A heads, and I'm looking for a little more information about these heads, specifically the chamber size of the heads. Does anyone have a spec sheet about these heads in particular that might have that information?
Thank you,
densen

A 5A headed 307 SBO has to have a A4 manifold and is the better of the 307's. it a big car like the Riv, do you know if its the "9" motor or the "Y" motor. The 9 has a hotter cam and is found in the 442 and Hurst of that year and its in a few of the bigger GM cars like the Caddie
What is the VIN of the Buick? That is the only way your going to tell if its a Y or 9, assuming the motor is orginal
