olds 350 stall convert and differentials?

I wanted too see what yalls input on my options are. I want my car to be quicker, I have an 84 cutlass supreme with an olds 350 with #4 heads the engine is from 74. I have the option to run a th350 or 2004r, I am leaning towards the 2004r. Also which would be the best gear ratio to get out of the hole quick but not ruin my gas mileage. Also could I run a stall converter. my 350 is around 10 to1 cr and I a rochester 4 bbl on it now its got alot of power but it feels like i cant really feel it. Then again i have 22s on it right now but i am going back to the stock olds rallys. Any input would be really appreciated.

i use a 3:90 gear and a 200r4 and get close to 20MPG and it's pretty snappy. There are a lot of better choices between 22's and stock rims.

Idk i really like the chrome olds rallys and the last time i drove it I it at about 145 on the highway and still had some pedal left. the only reason i new how fast i was goin is because my friend has a speedo app on his phone lol. It drives great on the high way but i still want it to be a little more power to my wheels out of the gate. I was thinking abouta 3.73s but i was told g body cutlasses usually came with 3.08s with a 2004r but i dont know. Did you run a stall converter?
