Olds 330 ci VS. Chev 350 ci??

I have a 1965 f-85 with what I am pretty sure is a 330. The motor needs to come out for a rebuild. I was wondering if a Chev 350 will drop right in and bolt up to the 2 speed power glide? Just need to get it mobile.

Jesse, if you just need to get it mobile, just push it by the way, it's a Jetaway in there not a powerglide...

We don't do chevys here. But it will not bolt up to the trans. Starter is on the wrong side, the exhaust manifolds don't fit. Motor mounts are different

I've been thinking about one of those used Jap engines but I've been thinking Diesel ...

With a turbo and a chip you can produce copious amounts of torque...

If they can motivate a f350 to a 12 sec pass I bet a 3500 lb "compact car" would rocket ...

The Cutlass was considered a "Compact Car" when it was released, thus the hub bub when they put modified truck engines in 'em ...

yes, a 350 Olds motor will bolt up to a Jetaway tranny, not a powerglide...

Thanks ent72olds. You're a great help. I'm sure I'll be picking your brain alot more as I begin to work my may through what will probably be a good 1-2 year project.

Welcome Jesse,

lots of conversions can be found on the big block and small block sites. There is a lot of talent here to help you. Post some picture of your build as well

Jesse,

Like others stated a 350 Olds motor would be an easy swap. Also, you might even be able to find a good 403 as well. (Another easy swap) As Pat mentioned, search the big/small block sites for more info. Good luck on your search.

Except for the cylinder bore, 350 and 403 are the same engines as your 330.

Save yourself some headaches and use an Olds.
