No 'polished' Edelbrock Intake Manifolds??

How come I never see or hear of anyone with the 'polished' version of either the Performer or Performer RPM intakes?

I figured they would be popular because they are perhaps easier to clean? And of course looking pretty and all.

One the polished is more money and that money can be spent on something else for the car. Second some guys like to paint the aftermarket intake to match the engine to give it a original factory look and get the performance of the aftermarket intake.

I've seen the polished manifolds before. IMHO, I like the bare matte aluminum better. The polished manifolds remind me of the cars in Hot Rod magazine (all bling and $10,000 paint jobs).

I agree in having the aftermarket intake as incognito as possible. That is why mine is painted the engine color.

You could just do like I am and sand it down yourself. It really hasn't taken that much work yet. The tight little spots are harder to get to but I will use a dremel on them. I like the polished look. And you are right it wil be easier to clean. Dirt and grime likes to get caught in the sand cast finish.

It should be gold or blue.
At least make an attempt to stay with the stock look if you want to resto-mod.
I'm all stock, I don't even have a tattoo.
I do have a titanium plate reinforcement and a few synthetic discs but they're hidden.

The problem with polishing it is then you need chrome valve covers, chrome gooseneck, chrome air cleaner, chrome brackets, chrome hardware, chrome alternator, chrome windshield washer fluid, and on on and on.

True. I found that Simple Green works well for cleaning the matte aluminum intakes.

Wouldn't a painted RPM intake look a little odd? I can see a regular 'Performer' intake on a 350 looking not too bad though, since they sit lower.

On those old olds' (W30? W31?) where they came with a factory alum intake... were they painted or natural alum color?
