Yes most likely in the low to mid 6K range, carb to pan.

Update;
Short block is together with the new Mahle pistons. I went with the 4.100 after a boring from std. Compression is 9.4:1.
Cam is Erson TQ40 on a 108 (I wanted a little more "attitude").
Heads are 7a's with 2.00/1.62 valves, crossovers filled and dividers welded. Intake will be a regular Performer first, then an RPM. Carb is a QF 750 Slayer for both.
Should be going to the dyno the week of the 19th. I'll keep you all posted.

What oil pan are using? It will be nice to see my Performer on something that actually makes decent horsepower.

Coming along nicely interested in seeing the performer and rpms results. Will you need to make carb adjustments for each manifold?

We'll see but I would think yes. After that it gets a Holley Sniper EFI.
Stock pan with a stock pump and the purple spring.
Main bearing clearance is about .0022-.0024, rods are .0025-.0027.

I moved the high performance discussion to this thread so we don't hijack Marks.

Cam change;
Going from the Erson TQ40 to a Lunati Hyd roller with similar specs, 218/226@.050, .502/.512 lift on a 112lsa.
You guys know I prefer rollers over flat tappets for just about everything. Decided to put this build further into the 21st century.
Thanks.

Did you run the engine with that cam or not?

Nope, never got that far. Didn’t want to go thru the hassle of breaking in that cam then changing it along with the valve springs and pushrods. I’m all about trying to do things just once.

Darn, I was wanting to see what hp the TQ40 put out. I am sure there is some power gained with the roller cam over the flat.

Yeah my guess would be 10-15.
Cams have about the same @.050, just a little difference in total off the seat time.

Agreed. Nothing is carved in stone yet though. It’ll ultimately depend on who’s interested in this build upon or before completion. We’ll see.

Completely understand, you can't just do this build and Dyno session out of generosity.

Here's the link for this build in the "for sale" section. Thanks for all the feedback gentlemen.

I can do a mix of the options given if someone is interested early enough.

Both, they were within a few hp of each other.
