manifold question

My rebuilder called today saying the hydraulic roller lifters were hitting the bottom of the edelbrock performer intake. He recommended the rpm intake but he is not sure about the clearance once the carburetor is installed which could affect hood clearance. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd like to see how this is happening. Is the cross bar on the lifters toward the block side?

I have an Edlebrock Performer intake on my 455 with roller lifters, and my lifters were hitting the 'turkey tray' intake gasket. I removed the tray and used standard intake gaskets and the noise is gone.

I could be mistaken, but isn't the size difference between the RPM and Performer only in the height of the carb mount?

That's be bizarre to hit the intake. If it has a turkey tray gasket, then it's probably hitting that. I don't think there's much or any difference between the bottom of the performer and RPM.
