Machine Shops
Hey, young guy here. First engine rebuild (Olds 350), just about to finish stripping it down to bare block and taking it to the machine shop soon. I have some questions about machine shops in general.
1) Are they usually firm on their quotes?
2) Could they give me advice on types of pistons and sizes needed for boring (and in case of decking)?
Basically do they go in depth with the customer and help you out, or is it a get it done and get out atmosphere?
(And if anybody in the Hampton Roads area knows a great machine shop please tell me).

Get it stripped down, decide what you want and then get back to us here.
