machine shops on long island?

Looking to build my 455 as a street cruiser. 68 442, th400, has 3.55:1 rear.
Have been doing some research thru past threads, and would like to be around 450 - 500hp. Don't know of any shops on long island that have experience with BB oldsmobiles. Did speak with Bill at BTR and Andy at olds performance. Both sound very good, But not close to me. I am starting with a stock 455 w/ Ga heads. Has a performer intake and holly street avenger carb, but that is it. Oh, I forgot to mention, I don't have very deep pockets..lol.
Thanks.

I used Eddies Performance in North New Jersey. I didn't go with as much HP as you but I found them reasonably priced. Shouldnt be to hard to get to , its right off the garden state parkway. I have not started my motor yet but it sure looks perty! Let me know if you go with them,,,,,Joe

Mike Pettit at Pettit Racing Engines in New Milford, CT. It is the former Atlantic Motorsports Shop.

Keep us posted as to what you find out. My machinist retired and I do not have anyone to recommend right now.

Oldsmobile engine rebuild

Hi, I hope this will help you with your Oldsmobile 455 rebuild. Back in the 1980's I used Lab Engine Specialists located in Lindenhurst, Long Island.
(631) 226-2234 The owners name was Lee, he was a straight shooter and treated me very GOOD ( back then) on my rebuilding of a Pontiac 455. That car and engine I sold a LONG time ago....Good Luck
