It's Alive!
It's Alive!
Well I was having some issues yesterday starting up my new rebuild...went out and bought a 1000 cranking amps battery and wow this rocket kicked over something fierce. All the vitals were purfect and man does this thing sound mean...I ran it for 25min. at just under 2K and will change the oil and filter (there were no signs of leakage anywhere)...shame to get rid of that expensive Brad Penn oil.
355 Rocket
- flat tops/moly rings
- I put in all new bearings (factory clearances)
- Comp XE262/springs @100/lifters/pushrods/rockers
- ground crank 10thou/stock con rods
- 3 angle valve job/5thou shave
- I rebuilt the Qjet ('77 Olds) using a Chris Ruggles HP kit (still have to hookup the electric choke)
- pertronix ignition (this was flawless)
I've included a video, unfortunately I used a camera without sound, but you can see the gauges and timing light...I've got a huge amount of work still (have to fix a grounding problem).
