intake gaskets

whats the difference in getting a valley pan intake manifold gasket and just the regular intake manifold gaskets for a 70 sbo 350

The valley pan is the regular intake gasket for a 350.

what does that do keep hot oil off the intake

Actually it's the opposite - it keeps the oil off the hot intake.

Oil in the engine is a couple hundred degrees.
Exhaust crossover in the intake has 1100º gases flowing through it.

So which one needs protection from the other?
