I need a new fuel tank sender for my 70 Cutlass S, return or not?

They are the same price, I currently have the no return line sender that doesn't register, being non A/C. I have a return line pump on the 350 but also have a new chrome non return line pump as well as one on the 260. Thoughts? It will see some track time and will eventually have A/C and EFI but I assume a new sender will be needed at that point.

You can always cap the return line if you don't use it. You can't just add a return line for EFI without it. Easy choice.

+1.

And adding a return line will eliminate the (unlikely) chance of vapor lock in hot, stop and go traffic.

Thanks guys, another example of GM not adding a return line for no reason. My 88 CSC has one, supposedly the sbc 305 G body cars up here did not have a return line. My 81 Delta 88 had the line capped I believe, not sure if it was a factory thing or not, we had weird options up here. It was a non CCC car with no air pump, factory plugs in the heads. I think that was part of the reason it was so dam reliable. That and a huge stack of bills from new, mostly very regular oil changes and other important maintenance.

For no reason? Return lines are necessary with some emissions systems and virtually all fuel injection systems. The factory would not run a line in a car that doesn't need it, unless other models of the same body style require them.

I meant GM didn't spend dollars for no reason. I am thinking because our emissions laws were so relaxed up here. I am almost positive it was capped, unless it had a charcoal canister, pretty sure it didn't. We didn't get air pumps till 83 and no CCC till 86 I believe with the exception of the Hurst/Olds and 442. They were basically US cars with Km/hr Speedo's. Other than the big cars and performance cars, all were sbc's from the early 80's for sure. Pontiac's with exception of a few models were like that from the 60's up here.
