Heater hose

Looking to bypass heater core on my 72 supreme, any tips on removing the hose from the back of the manifold? Also would it just be easier to connect the hose from front if motor to hose connected to back of manifold? Is there a connector for that?

Yes, it's OK to connect the hose from the water pump to the heater valve (or hose nipple) on the rear of the manifold. The two hoses are different diameters (5/8 and 3/4), but it can be done. I don't know if there's a reducer for that but your local auto parts or hardware store may have something.

edit:
AutoZone has what you need:

Factory heater delete cars just used a pipe plug in the intake and a cap on the water pump barb. You don't need a hose there, in fact that hose allows coolant to bypass the head instead of cooling it.

I've seen a tap inline with the hose, during the summer turn it off, and when its starts to get cold turn it back on.
