Header problem

I have a 1969 olds cutlass and am
Putting headers in it. The problem is on the passenger side one of the header tubes is hitting the control arm so I can't tip the header to get it to draw right to the manifold.. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm assuming you have a 350. You may have to dimple your header a bit and or grind a little from the control arm mount. This is a common problem.

I just recently installed headers on my 72 S and the passenger side was definitely more trouble. I had to remove the oil filter and filter housing from the side of the block and remove the clip that held the transmission cooling lines to the frame and bend them out of the way. Once I got those out of the way they finally slid into place.

Hope this helps
Tim

If your motor mounts are old they may be sagging. Get new 2261s.
