Looks OK

There's a little still there sticking up.

If you want to remove the dimples, checkout my website and click on the porting SB #6 heads link.

Ok thanks! Didnt know you could grind out the dimples. I might just grind the air bumps a little more and leave it for now. I have a set of #8 heads ill play with, as far as grinding out the dimples

I'd get rid of the bumps, and leave the dimples.
The problem areas are more the bowls. Especially the exhaust side.

Keep in mind, the bigger you make the ports, the less velocity you achieve.

True, but if you keep the valve lift in check you'll minimize some of that.

wow funny timing. I just started grinding down mine this afternoon & was about to post my pics and see this thread!

here is how mine turned out, but i had the same question about that remaining ridge/dimple at the back, weather it should be smoothed out or not. I kind of assume it should, since its angled up into the exhaust flow, but figured i'd post my pics and ask too... sorry for the huge pics.

You don't have to remove the dimples.

It's alot of work and I have no flow bench comparison to back up any claims of flow improvement by removing them.

Velocity isn't an issue with production Oldsmobile heads, flow stall is. You can't make the intake ports BIG ENOUGH in there stock location to hurt performance even in a small cubic inch motor like a 350.
