Fuel Sock for 72 cutlass

Hi everyone! I'm getting ready to install my new has tank and figured I better replace the fuel sock before I do that. Can someone direct me to a thread that explains how the heck to do that? And I noticed there are two sizes for sale. 3/8" and 5/8" I think. From Where do I measure to determine the right size? Thanks!
Chris

I'm sure there is no 5/8, there is 5/16, and 3/8. What ever size your fuel line is , is what the size on the pick up should be.

Kind of surprised you don't just replace the entire sending unit.
