Edelbrock Intake Manifolds 2711 Questions

Does any one know if the Dick Miller Valley Tray DMR-5580 or the Mondello Valley Tray VT-581 will fit under an Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifolds 2711? I know they won't fit under the Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifolds 3711. Also does a 1969 Olds 350 block have the holes already tapped from the factory for the trays or will I need to tap the block?

Thanks,
Noel

If you don’t have the crossovers blocked then using the valley tray is a moot point.

Thanks for your comment Mark. I was thinking of using either Motor City or Mondello heat riser block off plates along with a fiber gasket. Would that work, what would you suggest? Or should I just stay with the turkey tray?

Thanks,
Noel

They have to be totally sealed to be effective.

I bought one and it did not fit, even though Lynne Welfringer personally assured me that he had test fitted one on a 1970 block. Then he erroneously claimed there different blocks and some fit and others do not, which is not true, so I had to eat the cost of the tray as they do not give a refund on returned products. So if you really, really want a tray that I have verified won't fit under a Performer 350 I can sell you one for a LOT LESS than Lynne Welfinger will charge you.

Bottom line is you do not need a valley tray so keep your money and spend it on things that you actually need.

I ran the DMR tray. Actually had his master template (he shipped it accidentally and asked for it back!). Fit just fine. You might have to use washers or something to raise it above the lifters. You can't bolt it straight to the block. I actually welded some stud receivers for wood onto the block.
Agreed that the crossover has to be blocked.
