Dam* my memory! '70 350 choke
The '70 Supreme 'vert is in the shop getting new ball joints and bushings. I wanted to order a rebuilt Q-jet to have when I get the car back but can't remember the type of choke. Seems like it's the divorced type but I don't want to order the wrong one. Doh! Guess I'll wait until I have the car back.
The car has three mechanical issues, and after the ball joints and carb are fixed it will be down to just a leaky automatic tranny. That will be pretty good progress seeings as how we are just now getting some good cruising weather!

1970 should have the heat tube that runs into the intake manifold with the choke in the round assembly attached to the carb. I think 1969 was the last year for the divorced choke. John
With the wetter than usual Spring we've had I'm really ready for summer!!!

Thanks John! I think I'll go ahead and wait till I get the car back just to be sure. I was mostly just complaining! And yeah, it's been terrible! I don't know about you guys down in the Rogue Valley but we had 28 days in March with precip! April was a tiny bit better but things are looking better now.

I ended up sending my old carb in to Custom Rebuilt Carbs in New Jersey. Hope to have it back in 2 or 3 weeks. They are supposed to do a full rebuild, bush the throttle shaft, seal the casting wells, and replate the exterior parts. Probably a little bit overkill but hey, it should be good for another 40 years!

After 40 years in the Pacific Northwest I can't take that heat anymore. I remember some days in Modesto of 113, still 100 at midnight...that's terrible. And of course in those days most people didn't have AC in their homes, I know my dad didn't.

Got my carb back...
And it looks GOOD! I sent it to Custom Rebuilt Carbs in New Jersey. They only had it a week and half before they sent it back. I hope to have time to get it installed this weekend.
If anybody has tips or a link to instructions for adjusting it, please chime in.

Thanks Rob, I'll have to pass on your kind offer, the wife says no carbs in the living room
They do replate the exterior parts, rebore the throttle shaft holes and install bushings, and epoxy seal the casting plugs or whatever they're called that tend to leak. Look forward to getting it installed and tested.

Got the carb installed...
Bolted everything down, hooked up the vacuum lines, cranked the starter for 6-7 seconds, and it fired right up and idled great! I didn't even pump the accelerator. I hope this is a good omen. No fuel leaks either. I need to take it for a drive and make sure the choke pulls off, the accelerator pump does his job, and the secondaries kick in, but it's looking good so far....
