Can't find piston for 350
Can't find piston for 350
Ive got a 69 cutlass with a 4 barrel 350... i am pretty sure it is the "ultra high compression" 350. The guy i got to for parts ordered a new piston for me, and when i took it to the machine shop to get it pressed onto the old connecting rods, the guy told me that the new piston is low compression and my old broken piston is medium compression. He checked with some suppliers and couldn't find anyone who makes the medium compression piston. he is gonna check with one more guy, a used parts dealer, but i figured i would go on here and try to find one too. You guys know of any suppliers who i could get it from?
I got my SpeedPro flat top pistons from Jegs. I built my 72' 350 to the 68' W-31 specs. The pistons ran about $350 bucks. If you have to choose between the money and going down to 7.9:1, I'd pay the $350.
Anyway, check it out and let me know if you're successful in getting a set. When I ordered mine, there were only 13 of them left in the warehouse.

actually, only one of my pistons was unusable, so i don't want to buy a whole set, and i want to match the old ones perfectly, but thanks!!! maybe ill do something like that in the future when i can afford it.
Flat top's 10.5:1 CR, 6cc dish 10.25:1 CR, 14cc dish 9:1 CR, or 24cc dish for 8.2:1 CR. These were used with the 5,6,& 7 heads. 1968-72 350 engines. Later 350 engines used the 14cc dish with bigger chamber heads yielding 8.2:1 CR.
