That's one of your heater hoses. There's one that runs from the waterpump to the firewall and another as you described. Just make sure you get the right inside diameter of the hose. If you have another car to drive you might remove the old one and take it in for them to match.

Be gentle removing it from the firewall nipple. Sometimes with old heater cores this can cause the heater core to leak. I like to use a razor blade to cut the side of the hose down the length of the nipple. Then you can use a flat bladed screwdriver to gently peel it back and off. When you install the new one put a light coating of grease on the inside of the hose. That will help it slide on easier and take less pressure.

Usually most places can sell you hose based on length and diameter.

That would be one of your heater hoses.

They sell them by the foot. Bring in a piece to be sure you get the right size.

By the way, might as well replace them both.

Some applications require a formed heater hose; a generic piece will kink shut if used. If yours appears to be a formed hose, perhaps try www.fusick.com for the correct part.
