Breaking in camshaft with no torque converter
Somehow my transmission got water in it while I was taking care of the engine. I can't use the engine to flush it cause the camshaft needs to be broke in. Could I just not install the torque converter so that the engine doesn't spin the transmission, or is there something I'm missing.

Is it known for sure that the transmission oil cooler in the radiator is good? If the source of the water isn't known consider having the radiator transmission fluid cooler pressure tested before installing the radiator.
If it was not run after the water entered the transmission, it should only be in the pan. Drop the pan, clean it up, install a new filter and fluid before cranking once the converter is connected. This is to avoid pumping contaminants from the pan into the internals.
Good luck!!!
