Best halo style girdle for a 403?

I know a few Olds specialists carry them. J&S is retiring, so not as sure about them . I am thinking a 5 main girdle. Are the thinner 4 main no machine girdles worth the effort? Light 550 gram pistons, Scat rods and a 330 offset ground crank. I just need a girdle , studs and cam bearings when I send it to the machine shop.

3/8" 4 main from J&S would be more than adequate for your build.

I have one you might be interested in. I bought one from Jim at J&S about 15 years ago. Seeing as my Nephew is a tool and die guy, I had him make a copy only it's CNC'd not like J&S. I know, me bad. I never used it. No studs, and you would need to machine your caps. If interested pm me and I'll give you pictures/info yada yada. I'm in Ohio 44481. Thanks, Ken

Super, no need to go over board. Do you know studs are needed with it? Mark I only plan on 9.5 to 1 compression with iron 350 heads with the bowls opened up, judt because I have them. I will be hitting you up for cam and other parts. It will be 424 ci and my plan is to have the short block done by next winter. Then add the heads with new positive seals, already machined for them and springs matched to the cam.

Sorry Mark, I talking the part number for those studs. I know an align hone is also necessary with the Halo installed.

I could CNC a Halo up for you, if you shoot me some dimensions. You can choose material. I will shoot you a price if you have the dimensions.
If other members would like one, I could do a group buy and knock the $$ down some.

Hopefully I can get accurate enough dimensions. A CNC girdle would be more accurate, it is even possible to do a 4 main for around $250? That is what they go from the Olds specialist's, talking Canadian Dollars, which sucks compared to the US dollar these days.

Does anyone know the part number for the studs themselves or is that something J&S puts together with ARP?

1-4 would use the 1/2" longer SBF Main stud. ARP has a part number for it, just don't have that at my fingertips.

The thread starter pm'd me and I've replied. My CNC'd one is 0.4815" thick. Demensions exact duplicate of the one I bought except thickness. I couldn't put pictures in pm.

The one on Ebay doesn't say anything about the stud kit. I got my ARP stud kit from Dick Miller Racing. I would question those studs. ARP studs are a little pricey but the goal is clamping strength so I wouldn't cheapen out on the studs. Jmo.

1/2 Plate, its possible to make it cheaper here in Canada.
