Balancer timing mark position 1970 350?

What should the timing mark to crank keyway position be on a 1970 350? This is what mine looks like currently. Is it correct or has it slipped? Thanks

Doesn't appear to have slipped, but... The best way would be to install it on an engine where you can actually see where TDC is on number one piston. The mark should line up with your timing marker for zero degrees. If not it has slipped.

Good idea. I hadn't gotten that far in assembly yet but I'll see what it looks like. I had heard people talk about how on different years the mark should be in a certain position in relation to the keyway. So hopefully someone has an answer for that.

I have a brand new damper here for a balance job and it looks like the mark is in the same spot as yours.

1964 is the only year that's different, due to the one-year-only water pump with the inlet on the driver's side. The timing tab for 1964 330 motors is on the passenger side, and the balancer mark is different as a result. Of course, for ANY build, you should verify that the balancer mark really does indicate TDC by using a piston stop. Production tolerances do add up.
