Another weird problem

403 with a TH400, final touches, was turning it over yesterday and one of the tranny lines got extremely hot? Turned it over about six or seven times, checked for possible hot wires touching the line but didnt see anything, NO IDEA????

It's grounding back through that line somehow? It needs a good ground especially when cranking and it could be searching for one or compensating for a weak ground through that line possibly, why only one though??

Check the main ground to the block and make sure it has a good contact. Also check the body to engine block ground straps and others like that, they're usually in a few places around the front end sheet metal and to the frame too.

It's easy to become blind to the simple things when you've been working on a big project. At least you noticed the problem and had the good sense to stop and think instead of ignoring it.

I hope that's it.

Don't feel bad, I think we all have to learn that way, my butt is numb from being kicked so much.
